In addition to his vast years spent researching the development of Newfoundland marine species, Dr. Ho has been a highly reputed medical doctor in St. John's, Newfoundland Canada since 1962. His ongoing interest in the development of Newfoundland's aquatic species allowed his company to introduce the first surimi and imitation shellfish production facility in North America.

In 1986, the P.J. Gardiner Institute for Business Studies (Memorial University of Newfoundland) awarded Dr. Ho with its inaugural presentation of the
"Newfoundland Entrepreneurship Award," which recognizes the achievements of Newfoundland's most outstanding entrepreneurs. Since 1986, this award has been bestowed on several other outstanding Newfoundland entrepreneurs.
Dr. Ho's company has also been awarded the "Canada Export Award." This is given to companies which exhibit:

Dr. Ho was also awarded the "Canada Award for Business Excellence," which is given to organizations which have displayed outstanding performance in the areas of Quality and Healthy Workplace.
Dr. Ho has authored and co-authored many scientific papers on the research of seal oil, its nutritional benefits related to Omega-3, as well its effect on health disorders and maladies caused by Omega 3 deficiencies. In 1997, Dr. Ho was integral in commencing a research study at Memorial University of Newfoundland, related to the potential use of seal oil in Omega 3 PUFA supplements.
His company's intensive research and development program helped advance the study of the dietary benefits of seal oil - overly abundant in Omega-3 fatty acids. In 1994, through Dr. Ho's initiatives,his company introduced the first commercial production of edible seal oil for human consumption in the world.

For more than a decade, much attention has been focused on the properties of the Omega 3
long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs): eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), and their benefits to human health.
Early studies have demonstrated that Omega 3 is highly effective in lowering serum levels of cholesterol, low density lipoproteins (LDLP) and triglycerides.
